Honda car makes have highest accident ratesNew figures from Confused.com have revealed the types of car with the highest accident rates, which could make particularly interesting reading for anyone whose car insurance policy is due for renewal.
In its shortlist, the price comparison site ranks the Honda FR-V, a six-seater, as the "crashiest car".
Almost a fifth (18.4 per cent) of quote applicants at Confused.com who drive the model have had an accident.
Despite being famed as a maker of safe cars, Volvo ranks second as 15.9 per cent of XC90 drivers have made a claim.
Meanwhile, the Lexus RX scores a 15.5 per cent rate of claims.
Gareth Kloet, head of car insurance at Confused.com, says: "Car accidents are rarely a result of mechanical failures; they are more often caused by human error or just bad fortune."
However, Honda vehicles seem to attract unlucky or poor drivers, as the Jazz and CR-V models from the company are also among the ten crashiest cars.
